I’m really happy with my Moonshade Apex Awning for my A-frame! The setup is quick and easy, which makes it perfect when I want to get outside without spending a lot of time getting everything ready. It provides great protection from both the rain and the sun, creating a comfortable covered space right outside my door. It’s been a fantastic addition to my A-frame and makes enjoying the outdoors so much easier.
We used the Moon Apex on our 2022 A Liner XLE in Southern California when we spent a week at Disneyland. We purchased the round vacuum anchors. They worked great. Our only challenge was refolding it when we had to pack up to leave. While we didn't have any rain, it was nice to have just that little extra bit of shade. We are very much looking forward to using it more often in the future.
One of the most difficult things about having an Aframe camper was finding a shade for it. The APEX has been a great addition to my camper. Adaptable to both sides if I needed it. A few key things I love about it: it’s lightweight; it’s so small I didn’t have to figure out storage space for it when traveling; easy setup; the moon mounts were easy to attach; the quality is excellent. I can’t wait till warmer weather in the North East to use it more!!

What trailers is MoonShade Apex built for?
Apex is designed exclusively for A-frame pop-up trailers and hard-wall pop-up campers. Confirmed trailers include the Aliner, Rockwood Hardside, Flagstaff Hard Wall, Viking Hard Side, and Forest River Rockwood. It fits any A-frame with a smooth exterior surface compatible with Pad Eye, Adhesive Anchor, or Oval MoonMounts.
Will Apex work on a van, SUV, or standard travel trailer?
No — Apex is built for A-frame trailers only. For vans, SUVs, trucks, or standard trailers, MoonShade, MoonShade XL, MoonShade RV, or MoonShade Pro is the right fit depending on your vehicle.
Why doesn't Apex have legs?
A-frame trailers have a low entry door. Legs block the walkway. Apex uses a single brow pole to keep the full area under the canopy clear.
Can I mount Apex on either side of my trailer?
Yes. Apex mounts on both the side door and rear door, so you can reposition it as the sun moves through the day.
What anchors does MoonShade Apex use?
Apex mounts with 3 Oval MoonMounts, Pad Eye anchors, or Adhesive Anchors depending on your trailer's surface.
Is MoonShade waterproof?
We don’t “waterproof” our fabric because it would degrade the integrity of its UV resistance over time. That said, it is seam-sealed and the fabric is a technical 420 ripstop that sheds water like an umbrella.
