About MoonMount Oval Vacuum Anchor

The MoonMount Vacuum Anchor is engineered for strength, versatility, and ease of use—making it the perfect solution for securely attaching the MoonShade to your vehicle.

Crafted from durable black anodized aluminum, the MoonMount features multiple 1/4"-20 threaded holes, offering a wide range of mounting options to suit various configurations. Whether you're using it for the MoonShade or other accessories, this mount adapts to your needs. Each unit includes a stainless steel threaded eyelet, designed to work seamlessly with MoonShade awnings by connecting through the integrated carabiner system—ensuring a secure and hassle-free setup.

Installation is quick and reliable: simply place the mount on any clean, smooth surface, give the plunger a few pumps, and you’re set. The powerful vacuum seal creates an incredibly strong hold that gives you peace of mind—your MoonShade isn't going anywhere, no matter where your adventures take you.

What is the difference between the Oval and Round MoonMounts?
Some SUVs and trucks have roof features like rain gutters or ridges that make it difficult—or even impossible—to install the 4.5" round MoonMount, as it requires a wider flat area. In these cases, the Oval MoonMount is a better fit. If the available space on your roof is less than 4.75 inches wide, we recommend using the Oval MoonMount.

 

Vacuum Mount Instructions:

  1. Clean both the mounting surface and the vacuum pads thoroughly.
  2. Moisten the sealing surface of the MoonMount pad.
  3. Position the MoonMount so the Indicator Line is visible on the plunger.
  4. Pump each plunger until the mount is firmly attached and the Indicator Line is no longer visible.
  5. Check regularly during use. If the indicator line becomes visible again:
    • Pump the plunger until the indicator line disappears.
    • If the indicator line keeps reappearing, clean the surface and vacuum pads again, then reinstall.

Product Use

DO
  • Clean surface and cup thoroughly before applying MoonMount.
  • Use MoonMounts in calm conditions only (winds less than 10mph).
  • Unmount MoonShade from vehicle anchors in high winds with gusty conditions.
  • Use included guylines and stakes EVERY time MoonShade is set up.
DO NOT
  • Leave MoonShade unattended while mounted to vehicle.
  • Use MoonMounts on vinyl wraps or over vinyl decals, as it may cause delamination. 
  • Leave MoonMounts on painted surfaces for more then 48 hours.

Very good product

I had looked at several options for vacuum mounts on my 2022 Mercedes Sprinter. I currently have 2 MoonShades and use the smaller one on the drivers side. Because there are no windows on that side the vacuum mounts were a great option and the OvalMoonMount was a clear winner over the other well known brand. I went with the oval ones for additional holding power and I really like the multiple mounting options over some of the other brands.

Easy & simple

We use these on the roof of our Ram ProMaster high roof van because we don't have an awning rail or roof rack. They are easy to use as long as you have a ladder to help you reach the roof. They have worked for us in light breeze with our shade.
